Sleek, shiny straight hair is absolutely gorgeous, and many Hollywood stars know this and wear the look often while out in public. Not only is it a sexy look, it is so much easier to achieve than most hairstyles. Really for a great straight hair look, all you need is healthy hair and a good professional hair iron to smooth out the hair. The emphasis is on good quality hair irons since they are easier to use and are much safer on your hair than cheap models that you may find at a drugstore which will damage your hair and leave it looking less than it’s best.

Once you have you have a good tourmaline ceramic hair straightener and hopefully you have a healthy head of hair, then straightening may take a little bit of practice to get the hang of the handling the tool. You should always start at your roots and the underneath layers of hair and slowly use the flat iron from root to tip in gliding motions. Work your way like this all around your head and from the bottom layers up and you will end up with a perfect straightening job every time with just a few practice glides.

Finding the right hair straightening tool for you can sometimes seem like a daunting task with so many different models out there and so many options for metals, ceramic plates, sizes, and so much more it can get confusing. Many of the great features on professional hair iron tools are really just a matter of personal preference. Such as ionic technology, it is not vital to have this feature that adds negative ions into your hair to help it maintain its health and vitality. But one feature that is more specific for each user that should be considered is the size of the ceramic plates on the straightener you decide to purchase.

Many people automatically opt for the one-inch plates, which is the sort of generic ceramic plate size for a hair straightener. This is usually a good choice but there are times and certain hair types that will call for a different plate size and for those circumstances the right plates on your tourmaline ceramic hair iron will get the bets results for the look your are trying to achieve. If you hair is very thick or very long then you will want to go with larger ceramic plates on your iron to accomadate the hair. While those with shorter or thinner hair will want smaller plates since they will have less hair to be working with and will need the more precise action. Of course any iron can get the job done, some are just better suited for your needs than others.

Getting Wavy Hair with a Hair Straightening Tool

Everyone knows the best way to get straight luxurious hair if you were not born with it is by using a hair straightening tool. But did you know that same tool could be used to give you gorgeous wavy curls just as easily as it can produce straight hair?  You can make curls and waves with any hair-straightening tool, but it is easier to accomplish a nice curl when you use a hair iron that has a slight curve on the edges of the ceramic plates of the flat iron.

To curl your hair with your professional hair iron divide the hair into small sections so you can curl small areas at a time. Begin at the root of each section of hair and use the flat iron horizontally on the section of hair. Slowly move the hair straightening tool from the root to the top flipping the iron 180 degrees every little bit. By flipping the iron as you go down the section you will create small subtle waves in your hair. You will need to take your time and go slowly on each strand of hair to ensure the heat has the opportunity to take to the hair and create the waves. Once you get the hang of it you will have a hard time deciding between the straight hair look and the wavy hair look when you head out for the evening.

A quality hair iron was definitely the biggest ‘must have’. After all stylists are depending on there styling tools to last through hours of use and provide nothing but the best results for their customers.

A quality flat iron will most likely have the desired features as well. These features include;
