Long Hairstyles

Long hair can be extremely feminine, versatile, flirty and is often admired. The only down side to long hairstyles, and I speak from experience, is the maintenance. If you choose to go with long hair get a hair cut that works best with your hairs texture to help minimize the amount of time it takes to style it. With any cut it also best to get a style to suit your face shape and features.

Long hair looks great with layers, and you can style hair straight, wear it curly or make it wavy. For those of you with super straight hair, the longer it is the harder it can be to keep a curl in your hair. However, with the right tools and styling products, you can curl straight hair and have it hold.

Here are some great pictures of Popular Straight Hairstyles for 2008-

Hair Dryer Diffuser – How to Use a Finger Diffuser

April 2, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

The most common hair dryer diffuser is also known as a finger diffuser.

finger-diffuser.jpg

This dryer attachment is one of the most popular attachments as its main purpose is to add volume and define curls without frizzing up hair. It allows your hair dryer to give a softer blast of air instead of blowing your hair all over the place like a hair dryer will do with out an attachment.

A diffuser is best used on a lower heat setting, and although it makes for a bit of a slower process the end results can be very rewarding. A more defined curl, less frizz and softer looking curls or waves. The fingers on the diffuser work to help separate the hairs from each other for a fuller more voluminous effect.

HOW TO USE A HAIR DRYER FINGER DIFFUSER

To add volume using a diffuser tilt your head upside down and place the diffuser at the roots of your hair and move the diffuser down to the ends of hair as hair dries.

step-1.gif

To help shape and define curls start with the diffuser at the roots and with circular motions work your way down the hair. Be sure to move in the same direction down the hair. To add volume with this technique lift the roots by keeping the diffuser at a 90 degree angle from the scalp.

step-2.gif

Always use your dryer on a medium heat setting and at a lever 1 air speed.

To help set the hair finish with a cool shot.

blow-drying-hair.jpg

You may think a hair dryer is just a hair dryer, however this is just not true! There are many benefits to using a professional hair dryer!

A professional blow dryer may cost you a little more than a regular hair dryer, however the difference in results are well worth the extra cash! Professional dryers come with many different features which will provide different results yet the main goal is a faster drying time and healthier, shinier, frizz free hair.

Some of the choices in Professional Hair Dryer Features may include;

  • Ionic hair dryers – Negative Ions work to eliminate frizz, dry hair faster and smooth hair.
  • Tourmaline hair dryers – creating more negative ions and FIR heat, Tourmaline works to cause less damage and help maintain shiny, healthy hair.
  • Ceramic hair dryers – ceramic distributes even heat, helps control frizz, reduce static and seal the hairs cuticle.

Even better, is that their are hair dryers that have all of these features in one dryer. Just as when choosing a hair straightener, you want to look for the best features and one hair tool that features as many as possible so you are getting the best hair styling tools possible!

As women we all want a perfect hair day everyday and we want it to be quick and easy to achieve too. Well, we can have our cake and eat it too with the right tool. A hair straightener can be a girl’s best friend if she knows all of the benefits to owning and using one.

So why should you own a hair straightener? Let me count thy ways…

1. You can curl and flip, add waves, use it for sophisticated up-do or casual everyday styles.

4. Turn up the volume! Adding volume to any length of hair with a flat iron is simple.

5. Save Money! If you own a good hair straightener you will no longer need all of those styling creams, anti frizz serums, gels and so on. All you will really need is a styling cream, spray or lotion to protect hair from heat styling and a good hair spray which is handy to set your completed style.

6. Save more money! Since you can create curls, waves and add volume with a flat iron what other tools other than a hair dryer will you really need?

7. With some practice a hair straightener quickly becomes a fast and easy way to achieve different styles day in and day out. You can have great looking hair everyday without the hassle and the time some other styling methods can take.

Is Ceramic Titanium Healthy for hair?

January 31, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

There are many benefits to using an iron that features ceramic titanium plates. First, ceramic is known for emitting negative ions which work to smooth and relax the hair. Ceramic radiates far-infrared heat which traps in moisture as well as seals the hairs cuticle leaving your hair looking healthier and frizz free. A Titanium Flat Iron will provide amazing durability under high heats and offers an even heat distribution. When combined with the ceramic, titanium helps to eliminate frizz, enhance shine, and improve the overall look of you hair. Your hair is left hydrated, soft and healthier. A titanium ceramic hair iron is a great way to straighten your hair with out the burn as it uses a better heat transfer method than non ceramic titanium irons.
