Seeing A Style On Yourself Before Cutting Your Hair

October 20, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

Getting a haircut is a commitment that you will be stuck with whether you love the style or not since once the hair is cut there is no putting it back. Thank goodness modern technology has come onto the scene to make choosing the hairstyle even easier than it was in the past. Before your hair ever comes into contact with hair styling scissors take the time to see the style you are considering on your head via one of the many computer programs which allow you to see how you will look with any style you can imagine.

Seventies Hairstyle

As you can see, hairstyles from the 70’s aren’t too far off from styles of today.

Who is the first person we think of when we think of 70’s hair? Farrah Fawcett, of course and her feathered hair style, That style made it back decades later and I still see people wearing this style today. It is an easy style to achieve and all you really need to get this look is a hair straightener. When straightening the front sections of hair, rotate the iron when you reach the ends in the direction you want hair to flip. See How to Curl your Hair with a Hair Straightener for more step by step instructions.

Another interesting fact is that women in the 70’s didn’t have flat irons, they used irons, you know, the ones for clothes! The extra care they had to take in order not to burn their hair must have been great. Thank goodness technology changes a great deal but not our hair styles…

Another Seventies Hairstyle that has been incorporated into today’s styles is the shag, a messy cropped style with layers seen usually at shoulders length.

This 70’s hairstyle is another simple style that you can do using your flat iron. Take sections of hair 1-2 inches wide and flip the ends of your hair out until your entire head is done.

As you can see styles come and go we just get new and improved technology to wear them. Be it 70’s or today you simply can’t go wrong, Although half the people you talk to will say “70’s was horrible for fashion and hair” the other half….the more important half will say “70’s hair and fashion rocked” I grew up in the 70’s and I am telling you the 70’s ROCKED, just don’t ask to see any of my photos…please!
