Men Can Straighten Their Hair Too!

April 17, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Growing up my older brother had really curly hair, which he used to spend what seemed like hours in front of the mirror trying to tame. His only hairstyle choices were extremely short so the curl would be cut out of his hair or something that involved curl. He just like many men born with curly hair would have done anything to get straight hair since to many of these guys curls are a girly thing they do not like on their own heads.

Of course many men do not think of it but they too can use a flat iron on their hair to get rid of their naturally curly hair and get those straight hairstyles they see on the men in Hollywood that the ladies love. Some guys might be reluctant to try this depending on their personality since to many this kind of grooming is just too feminine. But many of the companies that make hair irons try and actually cater to guys by creating models that they would not mind using as much. The popular pink hair irons that are all the rage with the women just would not work in a guy’s bathroom so you can get things such as a camo design from Chi flat irons that a guy would not mind using at all.

Since many men have short hair it is important that they use a flat iron that has a small plate size so that it is easier to run the hair through the iron to get the hair straight. And just like with women it is essential that men use a quality professional straightener that will not damage their hair and leave it dried out and unhealthy. After all the whole point is to look good for the ladies and you want them to still be able to run their fingers through your hair.

The Closest Shave Any Man Has Ever Received

January 24, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

In the not too distant past when a man needed a shave he went to the barber and received a close smooth shave with a skilled hand and a straight razor. Of course modern men have more choices than ever in how they will shave their faces but very few go with the option of using a straight razor. Of course if you talk with most of these men many do not like the current shave they are getting and wish there was something better. Whether they want a closer shave or they are getting excess skin burning from electric razors they all want something that works better for them.

Of course most of these guys have tried just about everything out there but have not attempted a straight razor since they feel that this would be too hard to actually do. In reality a Kamisori straight razor is actually fairly easy to use and provide a shave unlike anything else available. Whether you are looking for a great gift for your man to give him that shave he is wanting or you are a beautician who wants to renew this service for men these keen blades will deliver one of the best shaves ever.

Heat Advantages of Titanium Flat Irons

January 16, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

It seems every hair iron on the market claims that it is made from the best materials available for the job whether it is based on ceramic, titanium, or tourmaline. Of course all of these options are great choices and will do a fine job of straightening your hair but each has its own advantages that make it a superior way to remove those curls.

Titanium flat irons are known for the amazing ability to handle the heat needed to get your hair it’s smoothest. The natural properties of titanium allow it to heat up quickly and smoothly. For a hair iron this means less time waiting on your hair styling tool to heat up so you can begin styling your hair and the plates will be heated at a even temperature. Other metals do not heat up evenly and this creates hot and cold spots that produce an uneven smoothing action so that some parts will smooth better than others. Other metals also do not get hot enough to properly straighten thick or coarse hair where titanium flat irons are far superior at heating up to temperatures that are perfect for this type of hair.

Choosing Your Next Pair Of Professional Hair Scissors

January 12, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

There are so many types of scissors available on the market for the professional stylist that choosing just the right pair for you can almost seem overwhelming. Of course once you know which style and type of shear is optimal for your needs and cutting style finding that type is not too hard. But for those who are starting out getting what you want to use can be intimidating.

To start with a pair of scissors need to feel good in your hand or just do not consider purchasing them at all. If the do not feel balanced and nimble you will not be able to cut hair as effectively making them a bad choice for your particular needs. Also deciding between right and left hand models should be fairly straightforward for most people. But beyond that the choices can start to get to be too much.

Important parts to look at and consider include the thumb grip, length of the blade, and blade type. There is no wrong answer with these scissors since it is a matter of personal preference. As long as the pair of hair cutting scissors you are considering are made with the finest materials so they will remain sharp the rest is up to you.

Buying Hair Tools Online

November 6, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

Do you feel overwhelmed when it comes to choosing hair tools and accessories? Does the thought of going into a hair supply store to buy your hair straightener, curling iron or blow dryer fill you with dread because you don’t know what you’re looking for?

When it comes to buying new hair tools, it can be very confusing about where to go buy what you need especially if you live in a small town. What are your choices? You could go to your hair dresser and ask him or her about where they buy their tools? Maybe they could pick something up for you or order it from their supplier? But what’s the problem with that? Typically your hair dresser will have his or her favorite brand name or type of hair tool, which is likely a very good product, but it may not be the right one for you.

So what are your other options? Of course if you live in a major center you can visit the local hair supply store and see what they have to offer. The problem with this plan is that they likely won’t carry all of the brands and styles that you would like to choose from. And they may get certain kick backs or incentives to sell certain brands and not others which won’t make your shopping experience fair.

By far the best way to shop for your hair straighteners, curling irons or blow dryers is to shop online. Some people are nervous shopping online for the first time but there is nothing to be concerned about. Secured shopping sites are the norm now and should be expected making your online transactions safe and secure. The other great thing about shopping online is that you can research every hair tool before you buy. You can read reviews, and compare products until you find the perfect one for you.

Don’t worry about shipping prices either. Many times shipping is free or offered at a significantly low price. And the price of the hair tools online is often much cheaper because the seller doesn’t have the extra overhead of a physical store to deal with, so they can pass the savings directly on to you the buyer.

So don’t worry about shopping online, go ahead and check it out. You can always contact the selling website and ask them as many questions as you like before you make your purchase. Shopping online is safe and easy and you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home. Before you know it, your new hair straightener, curling iron and blow dryer will be delivered to your door step and you will be on your way to beautiful, well styled hair all without stepping out your door.

How To Get That Curly Hair You Want

October 22, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

To get curl into otherwise straight hair women have a couple of choices to go with depending on how often they want the look and whether or not they want to subject their hair to chemicals. Curls can be achieved through hair curling irons or via a permanent done at the salon. Perms as they are called will remain in your hair until it grows and the curl is cut from the ends of the hair and involve a long process using chemicals to add these curls. This is good if you want curls for a very long time and do not want to change your look too often.

The other alternative is to get the curl into your hair using a hot curling iron every time you wash and style your hair. Some women feel that this way is more time consuming than the perm and not the best option while others like the freedom this allows. Since the curls are not permanent you can change the degree in which you curl your hair each day or choose not to curl it all and go straight once in awhile. Really one way of curling your hair is not better than the other it is just a matter of personal preference on what you prefer.

Hair Dryer Choices

August 27, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

Girls today have a much wider selection on hair dryers than our mothers and other women had just a few short years ago. Old hair dryers that were available back then were essentially a coil that heated up when an electrical current was passed through it. This was then blown over the hair to dry it out, and dry it out it did, quite literally. These dryers were notorious for causing split ends, frizz, and other hair problems that made a girls tresses just not as good looking as they should have been. Sadly many drugstore hair dryers are the same now as they were then, so if possible avoid these dryers if you can.

Modern hair dryers utilize the knowledge that negative ions enrich hair and help it retain its own natural moisture. These come in either ceramic or ionic hair dryers and a few of these even add in the extra touch of tourmaline for even more negative ion infusion into hair for the absolute best blow dry that will leave your hair healthy if not healthier than before you used them. These dryers may cost a little more, but in the long run they are well worth the expense.

A professional blow dryer may cost you a little more than a regular hair dryer, however the difference in results are well worth the extra cash! Professional dryers come with many different features which will provide different results yet the main goal is a faster drying time and healthier, shinier, frizz free hair.

Some of the choices in Professional Hair Dryer Features may include;

  • Ionic hair dryers – Negative Ions work to eliminate frizz, dry hair faster and smooth hair.
  • Tourmaline hair dryers – creating more negative ions and FIR heat, Tourmaline works to cause less damage and help maintain shiny, healthy hair.
  • Ceramic hair dryers – ceramic distributes even heat, helps control frizz, reduce static and seal the hairs cuticle.

Even better, is that their are hair dryers that have all of these features in one dryer. Just as when choosing a hair straightener, you want to look for the best features and one hair tool that features as many as possible so you are getting the best hair styling tools possible!
