Celebrities Going Red

April 15, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

I love red hair and it seems celebrities such as Kat Von D and Jessica Alba do too! Kat has chosen a bold, bright red hue where as Jessica Alba’s red hair is a little more natural looking shade of dark auburn. Red hair is a hot trend and a big part of 2010 Summer Hairstyles.

Shades of auburn and copper are popular shades of red and although you can get red hair from a bottle, for the most natural looking red hair I would suggest you see your stylist!

If you choose to go red keep in mind that red is the fastest hair color to fade so be sure to use hair care products for color treated hair to help keep your new hue looking fresh and vibrant!

2010 Golden Globes Hairstyles – AnnaLynne McCord hairstyle

January 18, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

AnnaLynne McCord’s Golden Globe’s Hairstyle looked fabulous in layered ringlets accessorized with a golden headband however, her dress on the other hand I’m not too crazy about. She definitley fits the role of Grecian Goddess in her Lloyd Klein gown which I think is beautiful from the waist down but to me, the cut out bustier looks like a pair of ‘grabby’ hands. What do you think of AnnaLynne McCord’s Golden Globes Dress?

2010 hairstyle trends include lots of volume, 50′s inspired styles, braids of all sorts as well as sleek ponytails.

The bob hairstyle is still a hot hairstyle trend for 2010 however this year it gets a little edgier also, shoulder length bobs are making a hit.

Smooth, sleek hair of all lengths will also be seen a lot in 2010 and creating smooth, shiny strands is simple using a flat iron.

Create soft, smooth waves using your curling iron and this year make sure you have a set of hot rollers on hand to pump up the volume in your hair and add movement and texture.

Holiday Hair – Hairstyles for 2009-2010

November 16, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

This season, holiday hair is sleek, chic and elegant. Hairstyles such as the loose chignon, soft waves and the classic pony are hot trends for 2009 holiday hair.

This year, the chignon goes from the classic to a more modern version that is loose and somewhat messy looking. To create this look, blow dry hair and create a deep side part. Secure hair into a low pony tail. Taking sections of hair, wrap them around the base of the ponytail, securing with bobby pins. To create the more modern messy chignon, leave ends of your hair out.

The classic pony is a sweet and sophisticated hairstyle and can easily be vamped up for the holiday season with a rhinestone hair clip, gold or silver bobby pins or other hair accessories. The 2009 holiday ponytail is sleek, shiny and smooth looking but not flat. Use a flat iron to create super straight, shiny strands before securing hair into a ponytail that sits in the middle of your head. Brush hair straight back or create a part anywhere you like. Cover your hair elastic by wrapping a section of hair around it and securing with a bobby pin. Lightly spray hair with a hairspray to tame flyaways.

To create soft waves, apply a texture enhancing styling cream and blow dry hair. Taking sections 1-2 inches, wrap them around the barrel of your curling, hold for a few seconds and then let go. Once you have done all of your hair apply a shine serum for soft, glossy waves.
